Siili has been approved as member of Digital Defence Ecosystem, that brings together the leading Finnish technology companies to support national defence capabilities and security of supply. The selection is based on a strict assessment of the company’s expertise, the suitability of the solutions for defence needs, and the ability to operate in high-security environments.
”We feel it is our national duty to participate in the work that builds the New Defense capabilities of the future. Siili has more than 20 years of experience in critical digital solutions, and even now a significant part of our personnel works on high-security projects,” says Jaana Komulainen, director of Siili’s Government and Security business.
Data and AI are at the core of Siili’s strategy. Our aim is to be a pioneer in utilizing and developing AI solutions.
From the perspective of the defence forces and the industry, Siili has four key, value adding competence areas:
- User interface solutions and international reach
- Siili has in-depth HMI (Human-Machine Interface) expertise and long-term customer relationships in demanding global markets. Siili has sales companies in the United States, which enables the scaling of defense solutions also to NATO-compatible environments.
- Intelligent automation and usability-focused development
Siili leverages intelligent automation to streamline processes, especially in data-intensive environments and hybrid environments that combine physical and digital systems – such as logistics and maintenance. This will directly benefit the operational efficiency and resource management of the Defence Forces. - Situational awareness systems and digital twins
Siili has strong experience in developing predictive situational awareness systems. The systems help manage both operational and strategic situational awareness. - Usability in operational environments
Siili is committed to developing solutions that are based on data and AI, with special focus on usability and quality improvement. Usability and continuous quality improvement is critical when the goal is smooth and error-free operation in demanding operations where decision-making takes place quickly and under pressure.
”Digitalization is an integral part of modern defence. We are proud to bring our expertise to the benefit of Finland's defence capabilities. Siili has a strong position in the defence sector. In addition to being now part of the Digital Defence Ecosystem, we have also been selected as an eligible supplier partner in the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) portals. We are looking forward to being able to support Finland as well as NATO and its member states with our agile solutions,” Komulainen says.
